Alex Song’s future at West Ham United looks to be in doubt with the East London club holding reservations over his dip in form, according to the Mail Online.
The midfielder joined the Hammers on loan from Barcelona back in August, and was one of the clubs star performers in the first half of the campaign, when Sam Allardyce’s side looked in contention for a European qualification place.
However, his drop off in form has coincided with the club’s bad run, which has seen them win just two of their last thirteen league games.
Cameroon international Song is contracted to Barcelona until the summer of 2017, and is on a £80,000 per week deal – wages which West Ham are currently reluctant to match.
He is now set to return to the Catalan club, for whom he played for fifty-nine times in two seasons prior to his return to the Premier League.
