(GSM) – Bayern München have confirmed the imminent departure of midfielder Jose Ernesto Sosa to Napoli on a permanent transfer.
With a fee having been agreed between the two clubs, the Argentina international is currently negotiating personal terms with the Serie A outfit.
The 25-year-old has failed to secure a regular first-team place since arriving at the Allianz Arena from Estudiantes for around £6million in June 2007.
And, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, the German giants have agreed to offload him to Italy.
Bayern München executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Kicker: “Keeping him at our club would be nonsense, the player has no big future at our club and has a desire to move on.
“(Manager) Louis van Gaal also thinks the transfer of Sosa is best and we have allowed Jose to discuss personal terms with that club (Napoli).”
