According to a recent report from L’Equipe, Paulo Sousa is in prime position to take over as the new manager of Bordeaux. The 48 year old has had an intriguing run through management, spending time with nine different clubs between the years of 2005 and 2018. His latest position saw him manage Tianjin Quanjian, and he has been without a role ever since then.
Bordeaux were once considered to be future superstars in both French and European football, but in the last few years, it seems like the wheels have fallen off a little bit.
Sousa has been searching for that one defining role in management for over a decade now, and while he’s been able to have sporadic moments of success here and there, he has yet to last longer than three years with any one club or nation.
Would he end up being a good appointment? Well, only time will tell.
