(GSM) – Pressure continues to mount on the South African national team. On Wednesday, the World Cup hosts only managed a 1-1 draw against Namibia.

It was generally expected that the Bafana Bafana would use this match as an opportunity to boost their confidence, but Namibia were not to be used for such purposes.

After 42 minutes at Johannesburg’s First National Bank Stadium, Namibia surprisingly opened the scoring through Rudolph Bester.

South Africa did limit the damage in the second half as Mamelodi Sundowns striker Katlego Mphela netted the equaliser on 70 minutes.

The team have just three months left to prepare for their World Cup opener with Mexico. In the remaining Group A games, South Africa face Uruguay and France.
