Uruguayan midfielder Diego Arismendi has signed a four-year-contract with Stoke City.
The 21-year-old international comes from Nacional for a fee of £ 2, 6 million. This amount can eventually rise to £ 4,8 million.
Arismendi’s transfer follows the double signing of the Middlesbrough-duo Robert Huth and Tuncay Sanli, last week.
In announcing the deal, Chief Executive Tony Scholes said on the club’s official website: “This is the first time the Club has signed a player directly from South America. Clearly, Diego will need time to settle in, but we are excited by his potential and are confident he will prove to be a great acquisition.“
