Southampton 5/6 to finish in the bottom half of the Premier League next season

Competition: Premier League
Market: Southampton to finish bottom-half
Odds: 5/6 @ William Hill

With Southampton having recently losing their manager Mauricio Pochettino, who joined Tottenham Hotspur on a five year deal, one of their top goalscorers Rickie Lambert leaving to join Liverpool, and offers having been put in for talented attacking-midfielder Adam Lallana and left-back Luke Shaw, Southampton are being tipped for a very disappointing season.

Last campaign, they finished in a very impressive 8th place in the Premier League, with 56 points – matching their highest ever league finish set back in 2002/03 (8th). But it’s their best points tally for a Premier League season that has led many to believe it will go horribly wrong following the mass departures of influential players next campaign.

As a result, William Hill are giving odds of 5/6 for Southampton to finish in the bottom-half of the Premier League in 2014/15. While the club owners have tried to assure the supporters that the Saints can still continue their progression in the top flight, losing such a large amount of key players makes their job incredible difficult.

Bet: Southampton to finish in the bottom-half of the Premier League next season @ 5/6 with William Hill >>
