Southampton welcome West Ham United to St Mary’s in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, and are favourites to pick up all three points to finally get a win on home soil after their six-game scoring drought. The Saints have been hard to beat at home, even despite their lack of wins, and West Ham’s poor form over the summer could see them falling short.
Mauricio Pellegrino’s Southampton side played out a goalless draw with Swansea City in their Premier League opener and find themselves 11th in the table as a result. The Saints have been impressive this summer, picking up two wins and a draw from their last four before the season started.
As for their visitors, Slaven Bilic’s West Ham United side suffered a 4-0 defeat to Manchester United in their opening game of the campaign, and are currently rock bottom in the Premier League table. The Hammers have struggled this summer, failing to win their last four pre-season friendlies, and have conceded 12 goals in their previous five in all competitions.
