Market: Southampton to win against Swansea

Southampton welcome Swansea City to St Mary’s in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, and are favourites to win their season opener given how poor the Swans have been on the road of late.
But it may not be a foregone conclusion as the Saints haven’t been the most convincing in their own backyard if the last 12 months is anything to go by.
Mauricio Pellegrino’s Southampton side finished eighth in the Premier League last season and have enjoyed a strong pre-season which could see them with momentum going into this weekend’s clash.
The Saints have won two of their last three games this summer, keeping three clean sheets in five. Southampton also have a one-sided head-to-head record with Swansea which could be a factor in the outcome.
As for the visitors, Paul Clement’s Swansea City side finished last season seven places worse off than Southampton, but were on a high with four wins from five. Their pre-season hasn’t gone badly either, picking up three wins and two draws from six this summer.
However, with Southampton boasting three wins in their last four meetings with Swansea, Bet 365 are giving odds of 8/13 for the hosts to pick up all three points on Saturday.
