Southampton welcome Manchester United to St Mary’s in the Premier League this evening, in a game that could be close to call given the hosts have as good a chance of getting a result as the visitors. Southampton are the form side of the two but Manchester United will want to arrest the slide to boost confidence ahead of their Europa League final to come.

Claude Puel’s Southampton side are currently eighth in the Premier League with 45 points from 36 games this season, coming off the back of one win and two draws from their last four. The Saints haven’t been too convincing at home, however, winning only one of their last six at St Mary’s, but the form of their opponents hasn’t been too impressive either.

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United side find themselves sixth in the division with 65 points, having gone four games without a win, losing back-to-back outings. The Red Devils have picked up just one point from their last three away games but will be desperate to stop the rot. With a weakened eleven, United might settle for a draw as they have little to play for in the league now but have a good record at St Mary’s.
