Southampton piled on the misery for defending Premier League champions Liverpool on Monday evening by beating them 1-0 at St. Mary’s. Former Liverpool striker Danny Ings scored the only goal of the game in the 2nd minute, and his team held on for the rest of the contest to book unexpected but certainly welcome three points.
On the final whistle, Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl was overwhelmed with emotion.
