Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has poured cold water on speculation linking Dirk Kuyt with a move to St Mary’s.
The experienced forward will be out of contract at Fenerbahce at the end of the season and he was believed to be on the radar of the Premier League side.
However, Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has denied he will be making a move on the 34-year-old attacker.
“No (we are not interested), I was surprised about that rumour, because he is not on our scouting list,” Koeman said at a press conference ahead of the Stoke City clash.
Dirk Kuyt recently announced his retirement from international football and it appears he is ready to leave Fenerbahce when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
Having spent six very successful years at Liverpool, the Dutch footballer might be interested in returning to English Premier League, but he won’t be moving to St Mary’s, that’s for sure.
After hammering Sunderland 8-0 last time out, the Saints can be backed at 3/5 to extend the winning run against Stoke City.
