Southampton eye move for Demarai Gray on free transfer

Southampton are interested in signing Leicester City winger Demarai Gray on a free transfer in the summer of 2021, according to The Sun. It has been reported that Southampton have started exploiting the possibility of bringing Gray to St. Mary’s Stadium at the end of the season when he is out of contract at Premier League rivals Leicester.

However, Southampton are not the only club who are interested in signing the 24-year-old winger. Benfica, Marseille and AS Monaco are among a number of clubs in mainland Europe who want to hold talks with the Englishman this month and persuade him to sign a pre-contract agreement.

Gray has been on the books of Leicester since 2016 and has not been to make a huge impact. The winger is not guaranteed a place in the starting lineup at the Foxes, and an exit from the King Power Stadium either this month or next summer seems inevitable.
