Premier League outfit Southampton are considering a move for Monaco striker Valere Germain, according to L’Equipe.
The Saints are a bit short of options up front and having scored mere 19 goals in 20 Premier League fixtures, it is hardly surprising they are in the market for attacking reinforcements.
French media outlet L’Equipe claims that Southampton boss Claude Puel hopes to get reunited with Monaco forward Valere Germain, the player he coached at Nice last season.
Under Puel, the 26-year-old enjoyed the most successful season of his career, scoring 14 goals in 38 Ligue 1 games before returning to parent club Monaco.
And even though he bagged 5 league goals this term, Germain lost his place in the side to revived Radamel Falcao and he might be interested in a move to St Mary’s especially considering that his contract expires in June 2018 and talks over a new deal are not progressing according to the plan.
