According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Southampton have once again renewed their interest in trying to sign Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu. The 21-year-old currently has a €12 million release clause in his contract, but that figure is not expected to be all too much of an issue for the Saints.
Back in January, it was first reported that he had become a target for Ralph Hasenhuttl after a string of strong performances in La Liga. Now, the expectation is that Southampton will really ramp up their plans to bring him down to the south coast.
Whether or not they are successful in their mission remains to be seen, but in many ways, it seems like this is the kind of deal that is going to come down to whether or not the man himself prefers the idea of playing in the Premier League or his current home in La Liga.
