Southampton are preparing to make a move for Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi when the transfer window reopens, according to the Daily Star.
The centre-back only moved to the Primeira Liga giants from Feyenord in the summer, but he has already being linked with a move away, with Manchester United heavily linked.
He played under Louis van Gaal in six of the Netherlands seven games at this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil and could well be the answer to United’s defensive woes, but fellow Dutchman Ronald Koeman has thrown his hat into the ring.
Since taking charge at Southampton Koeman, who worked with Martins Indi in the Eredivise, has overseen eleven league matches – only two of which have ended in defeat for the South Coast side.
The Saints travel to Aston Villa next, looking for a fifth straight league win and ninth overall – something which can be backed at a price of 3/4.
