Southampton are expected to seal a £7m deal from Celtic’s Fraser Forster should the Scottish champions crash out of the Champions League, according to the Mail Online.
Ronny Delia’s side are trailing 4-1 to Legia Warsaw in the third round qualifier for Europe’s top competition, and defeat could see them lose a number of their key players.
Their prize asset Forster, who was part of England’s squad for this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil, has been in Glasgow since the summer of 2010 having signed initially on loan from Newcastle United.
The 26 year old has racked up almost two hundred appearances in all competitions during his time in Scotland, and was named Celtic’s Player of the Season in 2013 and 2014.
Prior to his move north of the border, the keeper enjoyed loan spells in England with Stockport County, Bristol Rovers and lastly Norwich City, for whom he kept eighteen clean sheets in their League One title winning 2009/10 campaign.
