Southampton set to sign Clyne replacement

Premier League outfit Southampton are set to wrap up the deal for Sporting Lisbon full-back Cedric Soares, according to O Jogo.

The Saints may be powerless to prevent Nathaniel Clyne from leaving in the summer, and have, therefore, been trying to find a perfect replacement.

And the latest reports suggest they have found their man as Sporting’s Cedric Soares is set to complete a move to St Mary’s.

Southampton appear to have agreed a transfer fee with the Lions, believed to be higher than the €5 million bid Stoke City saw rejected few days ago.

The Saints look set to pull off a major coup seeing as a host of Bundesliga clubs as well as Arsenal and Napoli were showing interest in the 23-year-old defender.

Cedric, who already has 3 Portugal caps to his name, came through the famous youth academy at Sporting and went on to make 67 league appearances.
