With only goal-difference keeping Southampton above the bottom spot in the Premier League table, the club have decided to part ways with (now former) manager Mark Hughes and have since appointed Ralf Hasenhuttl in his place.
Hasenhuttl says the list of names in the squad at his disposal is too long, according to Sky Sports. Further more, he has already expressed his view to club president Ralph Krueger.
It will be interesting to see how the players respond to such words in terms of performance on the pitch, as they will likely be playing for their respective futures at the St. Mary’s stadium. In his press conference, Hasenhuttl said he wants his name to become known in the Premier League after having much success with RB Leipizg in Germany, and it seems the first move he’ll be making at Southampton is overseeing an extensive clear-out.
Nothing is lost yet for the Saints as the bottom seven teams in the table stand just four points apart.
