Southampton can finally breathe. After another disappointing season in which they had flirted with the relegation from Premier League, the Saints are now certain they will remain in England’s top-flight for at least another year. After going through an even more difficult campaign last season, everyone at St Mary’s wants to get over these relegation battles and return the club to the top half of Premier League.
For that, the club will need new additions to the squad – rather than losing players like Dusan Tadic. Now Daily Mail claim that Southampton are interested in Birmingham City striker Che Adams and a bid will be made during the summer. Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is eyeing more firepower for this Saints team, as they have been lacking real goalscoring options for a while. Adams has scored 22 goals in the Championship this season and it looks like he is ready for a step up from the Championship.
However, Southampton might have competition in Burnley and recently promoted Norwich, who are also interested in Adams. The player is currently rated at £15m.
