Spain travel to the Philip II Arena to face FYR Macedonia in the World Cup qualifiers on Sunday evening, and are big favourites to pick up all three points to potentially pull clear of second-placed Italy at the summit. Spain have been near flawless in the group while Macedonia can’t buy a win nor arrest the tide of defeats, which should mean the visitors should take advantage.

Igor Angelovski’s Macedonia side are currently fifth in Group G of the World Cup qualifiers with three points from a possible 15. The hosts have lost four of their five games but do come into this weekend’s clash in much improved form – two wins and a draw from their last three in all competitions, three clean sheets. Spain are no slouches, however.

Spain, who thrashed Macedonia 4-0 in the reverse fixture, find themselves top of the group with 13 points from five games, having won six and drawn three of their last nine outings.
