European champions Spain booked a berth in their ninth consecutive World Cup finals on Wednesday thanks to a 3-0 victory over Estonia in Mérida and a 1-1 draw between Bosnia & Herzegovina and Turkey.

Estonia started out quite nicely, but Spain took firm control of the match in the 33rd minute when Cesc Fábregas completed a wonderful one-two with David Silva before slotting past goalkeeper Sergei Pareiko.

Spain controlled the play in the second half and put the match away in the 81st minute when Fábregas played in a nice ball that Santi Cazorla smashed home to secure victory for the Spaniards. Juan Manuel Mata added a third in stoppage time.

The results gave Spain an unassaible eight-point lead atop UEFA Group 5 with 24 points, with Bosnia in second place, four points ahead of Turkey for the crucial second spot.
