Spain will be going all out to avenge their defeat at the hands of France in the last World Cup when the two sides meet in a friendly this week, Liverpool’s Spanish striker Fernando Torres said Monday.

“We really want to play them, especially since they knocked us out of the last World Cup. We are always very motivated when we play them,” Torres told reporters.

But since Spain won Euro 2008, France “must look at us in a different way,” he added.

France beat Spain 3-1 in the last 16 of the 2006 World Cup in Germany and the two side meet again at the Stade de France in Paris on Wednesday.

Torres, whose goal won the Euro 2008 for Spain against Germany in Vienna, is set to return to the side after more than a month out with a knee injury.
