Zenit St Petersburg coach Luciano Spalletti is keen to lure Netherlands international Wesley Sneijder away from Inter Milan.
Italian coach Spalletti is eager to sign a high profile name before the Russian transfer window shuts later this month, and believes attacking midfielder Sneijder would be an ideal addition to the Zenit squad.
Nevertheless, Spalletti realises it will be difficult to prise the former Real Madrid man away from San Siro.
“Who would not welcome a player like Sneijder? However, when we are talking about a player of his calibre, things become much more difficult,” Spalletti was quoted as saying by Itasportpress.
“He is wanted by many top clubs, and he has an ongoing contract with Inter. I do not think they are willing to sell him at this point.”
Sneijder, 27, is contracted to Inter winners until the end of the 2014/15 season.
He was heavily linked with a move to English Premier League champions Manchester United prior to the start of the season.
