La Liga giants Villarreal and Sevilla are among clubs showing interest in Real Madrid starlet Mariano Diaz, according to Marca.
The Dominican striker was widely expected to leave Santiago Bernabeu in search of first team football in the summer, but he decided to instead wait for his chance in the first team.
And while Diaz has seen his first team opportunities greatly limited, he has proved his worth, bagging 4 goals in less than 160 minutes of first team football.
But, in spite of his excellent goalscoring record, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane believes the 23-year-old is better off leaving los Blancos, with Villarreal and Sevilla closely monitoring the situation.
For the time being, Diaz is happy to remain at the Bernabeu and try to convince the head coach that he has the quality needed to play at the highest level, but his opinion could change if some of Spain’s leading clubs come calling.
