Spartak Moscow have moved to confirm reports linking the Russian side with Villarreal midfielder Bruno Soriano.
The Spanish footballer is hoping to leave El Madrigal after the club were relegated to Segunda and he has had no shortage of offers.
Valencia, Malaga and Rubin Kazan have all attempted to sign the highly rated midfielder but were put off by the €12 million asking price.
Los Che even had a €9 million bid for the midfielder rejected few days ago, but it now appears that Spartak Moscow have moved to the front of the queue.
New boss Unai Emery has admitted that the Red and Whites are interested in the 28-year-old.
“Bruno is one of the options we are contemplating to strengthen the midfield area,” Unai Emery told Spanish radio Cadena Ser.
“It’s a complex operation due to its high cost in all respects, but Spartak are willing to undertake it.”
Bruno Soriano has been one of few bright spots in what was a very disappointing season for Villarreal and he scored 3 goals in 37 La Liga games last season.
