Having failed in their attempts to sign one of Gremio’s biggest stars Luan Vieira, Spartak Moscow have turned their attention to teammate Pedro Rocha who is said to have agreed on a five-year deal with the Russian outfit.

Russian emissaries conducted the negotiations for the 22-year-old forward in Porto Alegre this week and the final agreement has been reached on Wednesday night.

Gremio confirmed the €12 million deal with the Russian club, adding that Pedro Rocha was relieved from his duties at the club to undergo a medical examination ahead of the proposed transfer.

Rocha joined Gremio in 2014 but made his big break into the first team a year later when he became one of the key members of the squad. The 22-year-old forward can operate in a number of positions upfront while he is best versed on the left side of the pitch.

Gremio gem was closely followed by several other European sides as well, most notably La Liga side Sevilla.
