Spartak Moscow have reached an agreement to sign Paraguayan forward Lucas Barrios from Guangzhou Evergrande, the Chinese side have announced on their official website.
The Russians have had a €7 million bid accepted for the player who arrives as a successor to Emmanuel Emenike.
Lucas Barrios shocked everyone when he decided to leave Borussia Dortmund for China, but that proved to be a poor career move for the Paraguayan.
The 28-year-old largely struggled to adapt to his new surroundings, and in turn made mere 17 league appearances for the Chinese giants, scoring 5 goals in the process.
He has been trying to engineer a move away from the club since last summer, and it seems he has finally succeeded in his quest.
Not so long ago, Barrios was regarded as one of world’s top strikers and no doubt he will be looking to kick-start his career in Russian Premier League.
