(GSM) – Spartak Nalchik are back on top in the Russian league despite being held to a goalless draw at Spartak Moscow on Sunday.

Home side Spartak Moscow would have been favored to win this match ahead of this season but Spartak Nalchik’s performance has been much more convincing so far.

Neither side scored in the Russian capital, which means that although Nalchik are back in first place they are unlikely to remain there for the week as they could be surpassed by both CSKA Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg, who face off on Wednesday.

In other action on Sunday, Zenit drew 0-0 with Terek Grozny and Rubin Kazan forgot to score against Anzhi Makhachkala.

In four matches played, only Alaniya Vladikavkaz managed a goal in their 0-1 win at Rostov.
