Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben might return from injury sooner than expected. The Dutchman appeared in training after only two weeks, where it was assumed that four to five weeks would be needed to recover.
Instead of having the hamstring injury treated by Real Madrid’s medical staff, Robben decided to teammate Rafael van der Vaart’s advice and contact Dutch physiotherapist Dick van Toorn.
In an interview with Voetbal International, Van Toorn comments on Robben’s situation: “I don’t want to say anything bad about Real Madrid, but I just do things a bit differently.
“At Real Madrid they surely thought it was strange. They even made a new scan to check if Robben really recovered. So, he was able to train as usual on Tuesday. If it was up to me, he could have been back on the pitch last Saturday.”
Real Madrid could use the reinforcement after several disappointing results in recent weeks.
