Dundee United and Ross County missed the chance to briefly move top of the SPL on Friday when they played out a 0-0 draw at Tannadice.
A win would have sent either side a point clear of leaders Motherwell at the top of the table, but neither team could break the deadlock and were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.
Michael Gardine could have fired United ahead seven minutes before the break, but Ross County goalkeeper Michael Fraser was up to the task and pulled off an excellent save.
Chances were few and far between in the second half, and Fraser again frustrated the home supporters in the 86th minute when he made another top save to stop a Gavin Gunning header, and he was at it again a minute later to deny Keith Watson.
The draw leaves both teams on eight points, level with third-placed Celtic and one behind Motherwell.
