Dundee United have climbed into fourth spot in the Scottish Premier League table following a comfortable 3-0 win over Inverness on Monday.
Peter Houston’s men started the night in sixth place, but drew level on 40 points with St. Johnstone and sit higher than them on goal difference after a home victory at Tannadice Park.
John Rankin fired the hosts ahead on 15 minutes, before second-half goals from Scott Robertson and Johnny Russell sealed the three points for Dundee.
The win sees them move within 11 points of third-placed Motherwell, while the result also left Inverness in 10th spot on 27 points.
