Celtic overcame the early loss of full-back Emilio Izaguirre to injury to beat Aberdeen 1-0 in the Scottish Premier League on Sunday.
The Hoops were put out when their key defender Izaguirre left the field after just 15 minutes with a reported broken ankle at Pittodrie Stadium.
But Neil Lennon’s men did not let up, with Anthony Stokes firing in a powerful winner in the 74th minute to lift them into top spot on the table.
Aberdeen’s Richard Foster was at fault for allowing Celtic in, as the skipper lost the ball to Kris Commons, and following an exchange of passes with Stokes, the latter fired low into the home side’s net from 14 yards.
Celtic substitute James Forrest went close to doubling their lead late, but Aberdeen goalkeeper David Gonzalez – on-loan from Manchester City – kept the deficit to the solitary goal.
