A brace from Gary Hooper helped Celtic to a 2-0 win over St Mirren, while Rangers were also victorious in the Scottish Premier League.
Neil Lennon’s Celtic had English striker Hooper to thank for their win as he struck twice early on at St Mirren Park on Sunday.
Hooper played a short wall pass with Anthony Stokes and placed home the opener on seven minutes.
His second was more fortuitous as St Mirren’s Paul McGowan played a misdirected pass for him to run onto and again beat goalkeeper Craig Samson.
The win puts Celtic into third, still a point adrift of table-toppers Rangers, who recorded a 2-0 win over Aberdeen.
Northern Ireland midfielder Steven Davis netted after 15 minutes at Ibrox, before forward Steven Naismith sealed the points in the 90th minute.
Elsewhere, Hearts moved into fourth courtesy of a 2-0 win over Hibernian.
Goals to midfielder Ryan Stevenson and defender Andrew Webster either side of half-time sealed the three points for the hosts at Tyneside.
