Dunfermline climbed to fourth in the Scottish Premier League on Saturday with a 2-2 draw against bottom side Hibernian.

Hibs manager Colin Calderwood will be under increasing pressure after his side blew a two-goal lead to remain on just one win from their opening seven games of the season.

Ivan Sproule handed Hibs the lead eight minutes before half-time and when Garry O’Connor netted six minutes into the second half, the visitors looked like taking home all three points.

But Ryan Thomson pulled one back for Dunfermline almost immediately after play restarted, and when Hibs defender Paul Hanlon deflected the ball into his own net just after the hour mark, the sides were forced to settle for a point apiece.

In other results on Saturday, an own goal from Tim Clancy plus strikes from Francisco Sandaza and Liam Craig helped St Johnstone to a 3-0 win over Motherwell.

Dundee United scored a 3-1 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Tannadice.

Lauri Dalla Valle gave United the lead after 13 minutes but Inverness hit back almost immediately through Nick Ross.

Daniel Swanson then put United ahead two minutes before half-time and Jon Daly scored the sealer after 71 minutes.

A penalty from Jamie Hamill and an own goal from Lee Mair were enough to give Hearts a 2-0 win over St Mirren at Tynecastle, while Aberdeen and Kilmarnock played out a 2-2 draw at Pittodrie.

Kilmarnock silenced the home supporters early on, with goals to Paul Heffernan and Dean Shiels putting them 2-0 up inside the opening half-hour.

But Aberdeen struck back on either side of half-time, firstly through Andrew Considine and when Youl Mawene scored eight minutes after the break, both sides were left with a share of the spoils.
