Motherwell claimed top spot in the Scottish Premier League on Saturday thanks to a 4-2 win over Dunfermline at East End Park.
Michael Higdon opened the scoring for Motherwell in the 11th minute, and when Jaime Murphy and Chris Humphrey added to the tally, the visitors were looking comfortable at 3-0 up before the hour mark.
But a Joe Cardle brace injected some life into the game until Higdon scored his second goal in the 90th minute to make sure of the win.
The result moved the Fir Park side three points clear of second-placed Rangers, but Motherwell have played two more games than the Glasgow giants.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Inverness climbed off the bottom of the standings with a 2-1 home win over Kilmarnock.
Gregory Tade gave Inverness the lead, but Dean Shiels cancelled out their advantage 10 minutes before half-time.
Terry Butcher’s men had to wait until the 89th minute to register their first win of the season, with Graeme Shinnie latching onto a ball from older brother Andrew to score the winner at Caledonian Stadium.
And St Johnstone played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Dundee United at McDiarmid Park.
Barry Douglas gave United the early advantage, but two goals from Francisco Sandanza and another from Liam Craig gave St Johnstone a 3-1 lead at half-time.
United fought back, however, and Gary Mackay-Steven scored after 80 minutes, before Gavin Gunning snared a dramatic equaliser three minutes later.
