Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola is reporting that Sporting CP are set to complete the signing of Bruno Fernandes from Sampdoria.
The two clubs are very close to reaching an agreement for the transfer of the 22-year-old footballer that should be officially announced after the Under-21 European Championship in Poland.
The attacking midfielder only joined Sampdoria last summer, arriving on loan from Udinese with an obligatory purchase option, but he is now again set to move clubs.
Having impressed during the loan stint with the Blucerchiati, Bruno Fernandes received a tempting offer from Sporting CP, and it appears he is ready to return to Portuguese football some five years after leaving Boavista for Novara.
The highly rated youngster had since scored 10 goals in 86 Serie A appearances for Udinese, but never quite managed to establish himself as an undisputed starter.
