The 20-year-old Akhmat Grozny defensive midfielder Idrissa Doumbia is expected to complete the transfer to Portuguese heavyweights Sporting CP this week, Ojogo has reported.

The Ivory Coast Under-20 international only joined the Russian Premier League side from Anderlecht in June 2018 but went on to make quite an impression on Sporting CP scouts during his 16 league matches.

Idrissa Doumbia is now said to have already agreed a deal to move to Portugal only six months after joining Akhmat Grozny. The Ivorian has given his nod on a contract that will keep him at Sporting until 2023.

Doumbia is expected to arrive in Portugal on Wednesday and complete his mandatory medicals after which he will put pen to paper on a contract with Sporting CP.

The Portuguese powerhouse are set to pay €2 million to acquire Doumbia’s services from the Russian side.
