Portuguese side Sporting CP have moved to confirm they are negotiating a deal for goalkeeper Rui Patricio with Italian side Napoli.
The Azzurri want the Portugal international to replace Pepe Reina at Stadio San Paolo, and they have made their move.
The deal has been in the works for a couple of weeks, and we have now received official confirmation.
“The case is this. Napoli are a club that want Rui Patricio and there have been negotiations in that direction,” new Sporting general director Augusto Inacio told RTP 3.
Rui Patricio has been a loyal servant to the club for some 18 years now, making over 300 league appearances for the Lions.
However, he recently decided to look for a new challenge and everything suggests he will be moving to Napoli this summer.
