Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola claims that Sporting CP are considering a summer move for Galatasaray forward Lukas Podolski.
The Lions are preparing for life after Islam Slimani, who has offers from a number of English Premier League clubs, and the Germany striker is one of the players on their hit-list.
Sporting CP officials are concerned about Podolski’s high wage, believed to be €3 million per season, but they could decide to increase the salary budget if their €30 million asking price for Slimani is matched.
Lukas Podolski has successfully kick-started his career in Turkish Super Lig, bagging 13 goals in 30 league fixtures, and he subsequently made Germany’s squad for the Euro 2016 finals.
The experienced forward made his 129th appearance for Die Mannschaft as he came on as a second half substitute against Slovakia, and he is now third in the list of most-capped players behind Lothar Matthaus and Miroslav Klose.
