Desperate to extend their gap over Dallas at the top of the Western Conference, Peter Vermes Sporting KC side will travel to the Rio Tinto Stadium on Thursday. Given the recent gulf in class between the two sides, it’s no surprise to see we are backing another Sporting victory.

Starting with Real Salt Lake, despite a bright start to the season saw the hosts jump int the top six in the Western Conference, The Claret and Cobalt have recently begun to struggle and coming off the back of a 2-1 loss away at Columbus Crew last week, Salt Lake have now lost three of their last five and also came crashing out of the US Open Cup in a 2-0 loss against Sporting KC. For Mike Petke’s side, their major problem this season has been their form in the final third, Salt Lake hold the joint worst attacking record in either the Western or Eastern conference.

As for Peter Vermes’ side, while Sporting KC might be coming off the back of a 2-0 loss to Montreal Impact that ended their 10-match unbeaten run, the visitors have been in sensational form this year and on Thursday they have the chance to extend their advantage over Dallas at the top of the Western Conference. One man to watch for the visitors is forward Daniel Salloi, along with leading the goalscoring charts for Sporting KC, the 21-year-old Hungarian has now scored three in his last three.
