Sporting Lisbon are showing interest in River Plate hotshot Teofilo Antonio Gutierrez, according to O Jogo.
The 30-year-old has informed the club chiefs that he wants to leave the Millionaires and will join the reserve squad once he resumes training after taking part at the 2015 Copa America.
River Plate are ready to listen to offers for their star player, but they want €3 million for the 50% of the forward’s rights they currently own.
The latest reports suggest Sporting Lisbon have made the Colombia star their primary target, but the problem is the Lions are not prepared to splash out more than €3 million for the entire ownership of Gutierrez.
Teo Gutierrez is widely regarded as one of the leading strikers in South America and he has been keeping the likes of Jackson Martinez and Carlos Bacca out of Colombia’s starting line-up.
He has been in fine form for River Plate of late, bagging 22 goals in 47 league appearances.
