Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola understands that Sporting CP will offer their star player Gelson Martins a new and improved deal in the light of heavy interest in his services.
The talented winger recently made the headlines with an outstanding performance against Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu, catching the eye of quite a few top clubs in the process.
According to reports, both los Blancos and Manchester United are seriously thinking about making their move on Martins, and Sporting CP have now decided to act.
With the 21-year-old currently one of the lowest earners at the club, pocketing just €120,000 per campaign, the Lions are ready to offer him a new and improved contract that would be worth €700,000 per season.
Sporting CP also plan to include a €60 million release clause and thus ensure the highly rated youngster does not leave on the cheap any time soon.
