Dutch daily newspaper De Telegraaf is reporting that Sporting Lisbon are in pole position to sign Manchester City striker John Guidetti.
The talented forward has had mixed success during the loan spell with Celtic, but he remains in high regard among a number of top clubs.
The 23-year-old is highly unlikely to extend his deal with Manchester City that is due to expire in June, meaning he is available on a free transfer.
And while former club Feyenoord have expressed their desire to sign the Sweden international on permanent basis, the latest reports suggest Sporting Lisbon have moved to the front of the queue.
Namely, the Lions are in a position to offer Guidetti a higher salary as well as the opportunity to play in a more competitive championship, and they are leading the chase at the moment.
The Swede has scored a total of 15 goals in 35 appearances since joining Celtic on loan, but he has struggled for form of late.
