Sporting Lisbon applied pressure on Leixoes and Benfica with a 1-3 win at Estrela Amadora in Friday’s only Liga Sagres fixture.

Amadora had a good start as Anselmo opened the scored after just five minutes, but Izmailov equalised only four minutes later.

Sporting then took the lead through Liedson on 50 minutes and the third and final goal came from Vukcevic in the 78th. At this point, Amadora had lost the motivation to fight back.

The gap with leaders Leixoes now stands at four points, while Benfica are now three points ahead of their local rivals.
