Sporting Lisbon have won the first trophy of the season in Portugal, beating FC Porto 2-0 for the Super Cup on Saturday.
Champions Porto failed to convince against their rivals from Lisbon, who took the lead in the 45th minute with a goal from Djaló.
And Djaló himself decided the clash with his second goal thirteen minutes later, for Sporting to win the cup for the first time since 2002.
Since then, the trophy went to Porto four times with Benfica taking the honour in 2005. This Super Cup victory is Lisbon’s seventh in history.
