Primeira Liga outfit Sporting Lisbon have informed interested clubs it would take €7 million to sign defender Cedric Soares this winter, O Jogo can reveal.
Having failed to persuade the 23-year-old to sign a new deal at Estadio Jose Alvalade, the Lions decided to cash in on him in the January transfer window.
And considering that Cedric has a deal until June 2016 at the club, Sporting want €7 million for the player’s services.
The likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Schalke and Besiktas are closely monitoring the latest developments and one of the three sides could come forward with an official proposal.
While Sporting are not prepared to offer the full-back more than €600,000 per campaign, the defender has lowered his demands from €1 million to €800,000, but the agreement has still not been reached.
Born in Gelsenkirchen, but coming through the youth ranks at Sporting, Cedric has so far featured in 56 Primeira Liga matches for the Lions.
