Portuguese side Sporting CP have announced the double signing of veteran midfielder Maniche and left back Evaldo dos Santos Fabiano. Maniche, who was a free agent after being released by German club FC Koln, has signed a two year contract with Sporting. Evaldo on the other hand has put pen to paper a four year deal.

Evaldo was a key part of the Braga team that finished second in the Portuguese Liga last season. Sporting have paid Braga 3 million euros for the 28 year old Brazilian’s services. He has been in Portugal since 2003, when he crossed the Atlantic to join FC Porto from Atletico Paranense.

Maniche returns to Portugal after a gap of nearly five years. He last represented a Portuguese club in the form FC Porto in 2005 before moving to Russian outfit Dynamo Moscow.
