Portuguese newspaper O Jogo understands that Inter Milan are keeping close tabs on Sporting Lisbon defender Cedric Soares.
The Nerazzurri have been alerted of the player’s potential and they will have the youngster watched in the weekend’s derby against Benfica, where he faces a tough task of trying to keep Nicolas Gaitan quiet.
Having come through one of world’s most famous youth academies, Cedric made two league appearances for the Lions before enjoying a season-long loan with Academica.
He then went on to make 13 league appearances for Sporting last season before finally establishing himself as a first team regular at Estadio Jose Alvalade this term.
The 22-year-old started 16 league matches this season and scored one goal in the process, with his impressive displays at the back not going unnoticed.
Cedric recently received his first Portugal call-up, while the reported interest from Inter Milan is enough to suggest he could soon be leaving the Lions for greener pastures.
