Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon seem ready to sell star striker Islam Slimani at the end of the season, Record has learned.
The Algerian forward has enjoyed a remarkable start to his career at Estadio Jose Alvalade, quickly becoming one of Primeira Liga’s most sought-after footballers.
He has been heavily linked with a move to English Premier League, where West Ham, Everton and Crystal Palace are keen, but the Lions have so far resisted temptation to cash in on their prized asset, reportedly rejecting offers up to €20 million.
Nevertheless, the latest reports suggest they may finally allow Slimani to leave the club for greener pastures in the summer transfer window.
Sporting’s plans will depend on whether they can secure the Primeira Liga trophy at the end of the season, but, whatever happens, it looks as though the Algerian will be sold.
Slimani, 27, has been in scintillating form this season, having bagged 20 goals in 26 league outings for the Lions.
