The William Carvalho transfer saga appears to be continuing and now his employers have made a comment on the recent speculation.
Shortly after a Lions chief claimed that West Ham had failed to submit a proposal for the midfielder, Sky Sports published a correspondence that supposedly confirmed a €25m offer existed.
However, Sporting CP chairman Bruno de Carvalho is adamant there was no proposal in the first place and that they wouldn’t even consider selling their prized asset for €25 million.
Speaking at a club event, the Lions president reiterated that William Carvalho remained an important member of the playing squad.
“Sporting received no formal proposal from West Ham. For €25 million I wouldn’t even sell them Umaro Balde (Sporting youngster), let alone William Carvalho,” Bruno de Carvalho said.
William Carvalho was widely expected to move to English Premier League in the summer, but the Lions ultimately failed to receive a suitable proposal.
